Wow, $30! that is ridiculous! Glad I was able to figure it out. I almost broke the clip on the very end of the passenger side because I was pulling on it so damn hard. I found and received info on how to remove it on the older models, but of course it had to be completely different for our newer models. I Almost gave up and pulled it out and broke it myself, then somehow figured out how to pop them out with a screwdriver.

I did break a few things along the way though. I broke a few of the clips for the door panels, one of the posts on the center console that goes into the dash, and one of the ends on the Drivers door window switch panel. I was able to glue them all back together luckily. The worst was when I snapped the Driver side windshield pillar trim in half, as the windshield must have been replaced at one time and the new adhesive they put in was stuck to the trim and I didn't know that until I broke it pulling it out. I glued it back together but if anyone parts there car out on here I am gonna try to get a new one, as it bugs me knowing it is broke.

I've got my share of broken clips as well. Some things got superglued back together, some plastic welded, and others replaced. The left side support for the center console literally disintegrated on me...:duh:

But, your local hardware store should have replacement clips, or at least something that will work as a replacement, and for everything else talk to gunner, he's the master of finding parts.

What an awesome write up. After reading your post I went and pulled the carpet from my trunk and sure enough, I had water in my spare tire well. Sealed every seam I could find and while pulling the carpet from the side wall, I found the rear drain line on the passengers side had come loose from the grommet and was draining water into the trunk. Cleaned everything well, went ahead and put down fatmat in the trunk, (cuz I had it) and buttoned it all back up.

Of course when I went to vacuum the car, my drivers front mat was wet. Broke out the compressor and blew out the lines in front, thanks to you.

Cleaned all the glass in the car, went to start it and WTF, dead battery. Oh well, I knew it was just a matter of time since it was original. Took out the old one, went to Advance and picked up a new one and got it all back together in time for the kickoff of the Superbowl. What a day.

I'm having some leaking issues with my '04. I don't see it leaking from the sunroof but when I do the hose test, water seems to not drain fast enough on the front passenger side. This causes water to overflow and get on the front seat.

Where do the front tubes "empty" out from the car? I sliced my hand up pretty good searching for a hole but only found foam in there.

they empty out in the front foot wells. pull the door sills on the bottoms and peel the carpet back towards the seat. you will see 2 black tubes one on each side. disconnect them and use an air compressor to blow up to the sunroof. that should clear any obstruction in there

Nice write-up and good pictures too! Just bought my 03 about a week ago and was going to gut the interior for cleaning. After we got a couple heavy rains last week I noticed the trunk was filled with a couple inches of water (shop vac'd it out). Last night and today I started tearing it down and now it looks very similar to your pictures. Looks like I caught it just in time because it doesn't smell to bad and there was very little rust. It seems like I have all the same leaks you have addressed.

As for broken tabs I prefer to use Gorilla Glue, I didn't break any but looks like one of the previous owners busted a couple.

I have encountered one other issue along the way. I put the key in so I could play the cd player while I was working on it and now the darn key is stuck in the ignition. It seems to be in park all the way and I did remove the SIR fuse. I wanted to disconnect the battery but I only have the one key. Any ideas?

After fixing the SR drains I soaked my Carpeting with laundry detergent and small amount of bleach in a large re-cycle bin and then rinsed well I kept it out of the car to dry for about 2 weeks. Good Luck
