Default Left rear window wont go up....

Hey,

I have a 2002 SSEi that the left rear window will not go up...

When you push the button, you can hear the motor, but the window does not move.

You can move the window by hand, but it will not stay up...

Did it just fall off the "track" or something?

Thanks as always!

If it was like mine, the cable that pulled the window up simply came undone. If not its probably jumped off the pulley and needs to be fix like the link.

By the way. Even if its the cable you follow the same instructions.

Default New Rear Regulator for less than $50

I had the same problem with my 2000 SSEI left rear window. I found a new regulator with motor for less than $50.00 (delivered) on ebay.

Here is the link PONTIAC BONNEVILLE WINDOW REGULATOR&MOTOR 00-05 REAR L (#330351649876) OEM # 10387939

It was all new and was a direct bolt-in replacement, it works as good as new.

I see this vendor also has a pair of front regulators for about $91 shipped. Item #330352153330

I have no relationship with this vendor other than buying a left rear regulator and being very happy with the cost and quality. They have over 40,000 feedbacks. YMMV.

I have a 2002 SLE where the right rear window was not going up.. same scenario, could pull it up by hand.. on disassembly found the cable had wrapped itself around the motor pully.. I did the repair mentioned above but it only lasted about a week, the pully was pretty badly chewed up and the cable just would not stay on the tracks (which were pretty much non-existent). Ended up buying a new assembly on ebay.. $45. 10 minute job.. Also had to buy some new plastic pins for the door molding of course, never come off clean it seems.

bottom line, I would try the repair above if your pully is in good shape, if it'* all chewed up.. probably better off getting a new assembly.
