Basically, I messed with my fuses while trying to fix my driver side heated seat, and ended up getting the ABS Light and Traction light coming on, and now the "Service Stability System" message, all of it rather randomly.

I did some errands and drove around for about half an hour or so. When I checked under the hood, the fuse box seemed hot - but not hotter than anything else under the hood (i.e. coolant container).

I haven't tried re-inserting the fuses yet though.

As I understand it (I haven't experienced it personally) the box gets much hotter. Don't just reinsert the fuses, actually squeeze the connections together so it connects more tightly. This is a thread to a problem that 2000SilverBullet had with it. I linked you to the last page where the solution is posted. You may want to read the whole thread, however.

Not to scare you, but you have to make sure this problem is fixed, it has taken 1 or 2 bonnevilles and a few Grand prixes. Here is an example of what happens

Too late...I already scared him in my response to his original post...and tried to temper it the same way you did. I didn't add the visual aid, though.

So, I read through the entire link you gave me, Archon. I'm not having trouble starting it anymore, but I'm as positive as I can be that it does have to do with the fuses somehow.

I took out #44 (ABS relay) and squeezed the prongs towards each other slightly (not even sure if they moved, I might have been too gentle). If I wanted them to be "tighter" how do I skew the prongs properly? Although it was #11, 16 and 21(IGN1 and INJ1 and 2, I think) that I originally tampered with by accident, I did not touch those this time. I didn't want to have to disconnect the power from the fuse box again to get my car to start.

But, if you think I should take another look at those, let me know.

Again - Car'* not stalling and starts just fine. It'* just the 'Trac' and 'Anti-lock Brake' lights will come on for about 3 or 4 minutes, every 5 minutes or so. And two-three times in the last 2-3 Days, I've noticed the "Check System Stability" message randomly and 2-3 times the brakes slip a little (the same feeling as when the brake fluid hasn't been bled properly).

After it'* run for a while, pull the cover off the fuse block and feel each fuse. You should be able to easily keep your fingers on them without burning. If they seem to be fine, leave them alone. You'll see 3 screws that hold the fuse box down. Try tightening those, as that is where it picks up the ground. Do the same, including the power connection to the box in the back seat. If these things don't do it, we'll have to start looking in other areas. Do you have the original battery?

Come to think about it, the three screws in the front fusebox I did try to loosen to get the cover off at first.

Eventually, I was fumbling with the screws so much I just pull the cover off. I did screw them back in, but perhaps not as tight as I should have. I just thought they were keeping the cover on

As far as the original battery goes, I have no clue. I bought her used back in october, and didn't think to ask the dealer that :?

She'* worked great ever since then, and only started displaying these symptoms the very day that I messed with the fuses.

That'* why we'll stick to the fuse block area for now, as that is the last thing that occurred before the problem showed up. Failing there, it would be quite a coincidence, but it could be that something picked that time to go bad. Stranger things have happened. So, start by checking, and perhaps even cleaning, all of your connections - positive and negative. While you're in there, may as well check the relays too. Pull them out and reseat them, see how they are.

There are two covers to that box when the car is new. The top one, and then there'* another underneath that says it can be discarded once opened. If someone had already been in there, that one may be gone. The screws do not hold down either cover. They just snap into place.
