I've used the search function, but I'm miffed. I ordered a blower motor for my 03 SE and it comes in. Dropping the old (steel framed) motor takes all of 10 minutes, but the new (plastic framed) motor doesn't have holes for the 3 screws to install. The fan assy will come close to fitting flush, after lubing the rubber gasket with some silicone. I tried drilling some 3/16 screw holes in the flange, but the location isn't exact and getting more than 1 screw in is futile.

Off to autozone. They pull out the exact same blower with no screw holes.

Off to Napa. They pull a huge box that contains the motor, mounted in the whole housing/plenum. New drain hose installed. This beauty has the correct steel framed motor with the 3 screw holes adjacent to the big post holes, but it actually uses screws through that are mounted in the big posts. I'm going to buy it tonight and either remove the motor/fan and install it in my plenum, or remove the whole thing from the car and install the new one.

Bottom line: How are people installing the autozone motor?

I may have found the answer.....

On rockauto, it says the Delco BM100009 motor may require a GM bracket and diff screws to fit some vehicles. This is the only way this motor is going on this car. The bracket is in stock at my local chevy dealer, so I'll give it a shot tonight and post the results.

New bracket purchased. The "bracket' is actually the large plastic piece the 3 BM screws go into. Getting the original out wasn't easy, but with the carpet pulled back, it came out. Actually, it broke into 2 large pieces and came out. New one is dimensionally identical, but it has 3 places for the screws to go into from the new BM.

I've spent 2 hours trying to get the new "bracket" to go into the plenum, with no luck. There doesn't seem to be an angle that will let it go.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Same issue here. Not sure why I was lucky but able to drill new holes in the plastic housing and able to get it into place AND secured! You think identical would mean "identical"... !

Yea I didn't have any luck at all, tried doing it but just coudln't get the screw holes to match up and it didn't seem to fit correctly. Not sure what I am gonna do. Can't find anything on the net to get the old metal blower motor either.
