Default DRL Disable Q'*?

Curious how may +00 owners have done this. Nothing else is lost correct? Do the lights still come on at night automaticly, via the Twilight sensor?

Been thinking about disconecting mine cause I don't like the look anymore. Besided I have silverstars highs and lows and when the DLRs are on they still look way yellow without full wattage. They match when highs are on but the day time look I think would look better with no DRLs I like driving with only the parking lights on and you can't do that during the day, drls stay on. But you notice at night you CAN drive with just the parking lights on. Weird. They should shut off once you flip the switch. Now I just want to disconect them.

What'* the step by step to do this again? Thanks in advance to those who respond.

There is a short blurb there but it does'nt say what years are covered by this. Taylor if you check before I do, lemme me (us) know if it is there and if it worked. I want to do the same thing.

I remember reading that the +00'* that that Dosen't work, inorder to disable there needs to be a jumper wire installed between fuse box #'*. Too lazy to look it up, someone who'* done it will jump in shorly I hope.

I seem to remember looking at a procedure somewhere (sorry, I can't remember where though ). It has you remove the DRL relay, then insert a jumper from the common to the normally closed terminals in the relay socket. This jumper maintains ground path for the left high beam so that when the high beam relay picks up (when you turn the high beams to on), both high beams have power & ground and are in parallel. The removal of the DRL relay itself basically removes the capability of placing both high beams in series for day time running light operation. Hope this makes some sense. Like you said maybe the person that has already done it will jump in & straighten me out.

I already did this and posted how it is done . I don't know how to show that post in this section but it was on june 26,2003 under daytime running lights. Do a search by author jmp417 and you will see the post. :? I am not too computer literate so if someone else knows how to show that post, be my guest

Thanks Bill, That thread contains the info that I had previously read regarding disabling DRL 2000+ Bonnes. I couldn't remember if it was here at BC or another place.

Thanks Jmp417, what does the twlight sensor do, lights still come on automaticly at night? just curious.

I have to admit I'm a total newbie on electronics, never had to use/make a jumper wire before, sounds easy enough, have my electrical father teach me a little leason in the process.
