Headlight Bulb Mod

Hey everyone,
I've been doing a lot of reading about changing our 9005 lows to the 9006 high bulbs, and how effective they are without blinding other drivers.
1. Has anyone whose done this had any issues with melted wiring or anything?
2. How do you do it?
I've searched and cannot find the procedure anywhere.
Thanks all,
Jayman

As far as I know of there hasn't been a problem with the wiring

Here's the procedure for the upgrade.....

i think you have that backwards, the 9005 are the high beam and the 9006 are the low beam lights. i did mine over a year ago with no problems so far. if your lights are adjusted right you will not blind oncoming drivers.

You're right I did have it backwards.
Is that link the method that you guys used? Looks like it's just filing down the inside of the bulb connector, or did I miss something?
My computer at work has terrible resolution and the pics are very small.
Thanks all!!!

i used a soldering iron to melt off the nubs, i found it much faster than filing or cutting

There won't be any wire issues or melting to be concerned about. The ampacity rating of the headlight wiring will carry the current of the 9005's.
