The 'rubbery coating' on it is pealing.
Haro, I would suggest contacting Ed Morad on this, if I recall, he had many of the trim pieces I wanted to replace for a fairly reasonable amount.
Otherwise, hit up www.gmpartsdirect.com You can look at their online catalog and specify the car you have, they then list every trim piece in that catalog and give the part numbers.

Posts like a Ricer Type-R
I show GM p/n of Plate, Console 25726766 but see that it should be ordered 'by application', which probably means color. Don't you have a GM part number underneath yours?
