GM qualitily
This has not been a good month. I purchased a 01 SSEI about 1 year ago with 30,000 mi. and have been reading about the 3 major problems these cars have. I thought I had one of the good ones. I was wrong. First the hood started to bubble-took it to GM for repair and was told they would do nothing because it had been fixed once before ( by a dealer 100 mi from here). Then my wife borrowed the car to take some of her friends on a weekend away and the back window fell down. They drove home with it open. Last week the steering started to clunk. There you have it--the big three. Not very impressive for Pontiac's top of the line. One question-- has the replacement intermediate shaft been redesigned or not. I am reading about new ones failing and do not want to replace it if the same problem is going to come back. Thanks for any help or support you can give. Roger

Don't be too hard on your Bonne. They're not the only ones with this issue. Oldsmobile's, and Buick's top of the line vehicles also have those same three problems.
Sorry to hear of your problems. I hear that the new shaft is redesigned not to fail like the current shaft. I could be wrong though, I'll let some owners chime in who have had theirs replaced. |
Tell them if they can't repaint a hood, they should be in a differnt business. They've updated the primer to fix that problem. The window regulators are a common problem. Can't help you with the clunk.

I guess so, if they didn't want to take the time to sand the hood. The corrosion doesn't go all the way through.
