Rear brake removal 2002
I have two warped rotors on my 2002 sle. I have looked at the caliper bolts, but it looks like i have one bolt and a bleed screw. i would like to replace the rotors and the brakes myself but i don't want to break anything. I have looked in the chiltons book and it doesn't show my set up. can some one help me. i have searched this site but i cant find anything on rear brake removal, just caliper and brake upgrades. thanks

I haven't had a chance to do a write up on this.
Should look like this
You then compress the caliper with a C clamp but only about 1mm
Then remove the 2 bolts on the back.
Remove the old pads and then you will need a piston turn in tool to compress the piston the rest of the way or you risk damaging the parking brake. Sorry, don't have a picture of this. But it'* a cube that goes on a ratchet wrench.
You might have to knock the old rotor off.
Put on the new rotor.
Put the new pads on and reinstall.

What is the bolt near your hand in the third pic? It looks like i have one caliper bolt and one of those bolts by your hand. I have the caliper tool from my superCoupe that i owned. I will try again this weekend. where sis you get your replacement rotor? how long should it last with normal driving? what pads do you use?

Not sure what your asking, the 3rd picture is the wheel hub. The only picture with my hand in it is by the lugs. Both bolts are behind the hub. Not sure where those rotors came from, not my car, just a car I was doing a brake job on. I got my last set from R1 concepts, you can find them on Ebay. No reason why a set of rotors wont last for a lot of years. I went with ceramic pads, I highly recommend them.

You may? be looking at the caliper slide bolts
This removes the caliper from the bracket but not the bracket from the suspension, in order to replace the rotor
There is one caliper slide bolt/[ bottom of caliper]which you take off, then you lift up and slide the caliper inward off the top bolt [there is a hex head on the top bolt but it is recessed until you remove]
The 2 bracket bolts show in PIC 2

thanks for all of your help. I would be lost without a site like this. It was really easy. i have never encountered a caliper like this ( wasn't like this on my grand prix or my fords). Runs like a new car again. next i can tackle the shocks.

Have you ever gotten pulsating out the rear rotors like you do from the front?? Replaced all the front parts need to do the back i think.. pads look good but have the pulsating when I hit the brakes and vibration at about 70 to 75 mph.. Thanks.. this is a great site..
