A couple of suggestions come to mind. First, change the oil and filter just before you put your car in storage. Next, get a fuel (petrol) stabilizer something like this product
so the fuel in your tank doesn't "gum up" the works in the fuel system. If possible I would raise the car off the ground so the weight is off your tires (tyres). If that is not possible I would inflate the tires to around 40 psi. If the car is near an electrical outlet, I would get a 1 amp battery trickle charger that has some sort of regulator in it to keep the battery charged. If that is not an option, I don't see anything wrong with keeping the battery connected and then charge it up when Spring arrives with a battery charger before you start up the car again. Also a car cover is a good idea. I hope my (English) was OK . Good Show, Chap!

Disconnect the battery negative and remove to a warm area if a battery tender can not be used.
Also if you cant lift the car off its suspension, place some wood under the tires. A car cover would be nice too.
In the spring before starting, remove the sprak plugs and give each cylinder a squirt of oil. With the plugs out turn the car over in short bursts (as not to over heat the starter), do this a few times untill the oil light goes out or the oil pressure gauge reads normal. Replace the plugs and your off!
