Plastic Burning Smell, Bonnie vibrates after 50mph - HELP
My 2000SLE smells like burnt plastic and now vibrates after 50mph. I haven't done any mod'* or messed with wiring harnesses and there'* no SES codes.
If I throw the car in neutral after 50mph, the car still vibrates even out of gear.
Has anyone had this problem or can help troubleshoot the cause?
thanks

Sounds almost like a brake caliper is hanging up.... Get it checked out...

i think that your two problems are unrelated. i dont know what the plastic smell could be, however the vibration issue is most likely a bad wheel hub

Well, the SES light went on last night , so it'* probably related to that. I'm going to Autozone and get it scanned. Hopefully it'* a sensor easy to get to.

presumably, if the shake is still there in neutral at 50, and not there at a stop, then its not engine related. it most likely a bad wheel hub or a bad wheel balance

Sounds like it could be alignment, wheels/tires, bad belts, damaged rim, constant velocity shaft.
Since you don't say the steering wheel vibrates I would suspect rear. Bad belt on front would give a feel in steering wheel on smooth street at lower speeds.
How many miles on tires? HAve they been rotated frequently to avoid uneven wear, especially on rear position?
