Need some advise - Fuel Line leak
Have a 2000 Bonne SSEi. Just replaced the Intake manifold gaskets this weekend. Job went well. Started right up. However, the fuel supply line is leaking at the fuel rail. I figure, no problem. Get new O-ring and I will be good to go. Pulled line off and pull what looked like (2) O-rings. One brown and one yellow that was slightly larger in dia. Got the Dorman Fuel line O-rings at the parts store (800-013). Pkg of (4) 2 - 5/16" and 2 - 3/8'. Using the 3/8 size and they look too small in diameter. Almost impossible to get the line reconnected even putting oil on the line to lube it up. Finally get it and turn ignition to "on" to fire up the fuel pump and it is leaking like crazy. Pull line off and O-ring is cut in half. Tried the other one and it just looks too small. Did I get the wrong size? If so what is the correct size? I have to be doing something wrong here. Any advise would be appreciated. Do I need to buy another quick disconnect line?

Make sure you have the correct O rings. Honestly, I don't recall seeing O rings on the fuel line connections, perhaps I just never looked that close. When you connect the line you need to make sure it'* fully seated. Push in feel the click, then pull to make sure it'* locked.

O-Rings within the Quick Disconnect fitting at the fuel rail. I should have been more specific. Yea, it is definetly cannecting. Clicks, then push back towards the firewall to make sure it is secure. Definetly connected. Thanks for the feedback

Line is fine. No issues before it was disconnected. It has to be from the O-Rings that are within the Quick Disconnect fitting. I am going to need to research more on the correct size O-rings. Sucks. All that work and something as small as this... Never fails.

I don't think the rail kit is the one. Most of the guys find them at Napa. Ask the counter person about fuel liner rings. They have a little kit behind the counter, then just match yours up reasonably.
This seems more common of an issue on the W body cars. Grand Prix, Regal, Monte Carlo. I'm sure the lines are the same, but the routing of lines and mounting of engine probably factors in.

mdbonnie,
I purchased a Dorman PN# 800-057 5/16" Quick Connector, Straight w/ 18" of 5/16" Nylon Tube and a Union. Cut about 12" off of the original fuel line and used the union included with this kit to splice into the line coming up from the fuel filter. There is an area up against the firewall that is straight where I made the spliced connection. The quick connect connector on this part looks just like the one on the Fuel Filter side. As a matter of fact I believe that is what this part is used to replace. The Filter side. Worked perfect on the Fuel Rail side. Here is a link to thier Website

Hope this helps,
