Default 03 SSEi shocks or springs issue???

My 03 SSEi recently started bouncing over bumps dips in the road. The rear end bounces like 3 or 4 times and drives me crazy. I know the SSEi'* have some sort of air lines (I think). Could it be those or the shocks or springs (can't remember what prevents the bouncing - bad springs or bad shocks)? Are there struts on the rear?
Sorry for my ignorance...

It will be the shocks that stop the bouncing. You may wish to double check your shocks and mounts to make sure nothing broke loose on you. If you do the bounce test it, it should come right to rest when you stop.

K thanks, I'll try the bounce test. It was like it just started doing that - wasn't gradual. Almost like an air line broke or something - but again, not sure how the air ride system works. Not sure if that would do it... I'll do a search to see if I can find something.

The air ride systems levels the car when the trunk gets overloaded and dampens the bounce in the shocks.

Turn the key to acc without starting the car and listen for the compressor to come on. The compressor is located on the right rear. If it does not, the compressor is probably toast.

If it comes on and does not shut off, then you probably have a line that has become disconnected or one of the shocks air bladder boots is torn allowing air to escape.
