Series II Engine in Newer Bonnies?

Default Series II Engine in Newer Bonnies?

Are there Series III Engines in the latest gen of bonnies? what exactly are the differences?

nope the Bonnes just have the Series II, To my understanding the Series III is just the Alum, upper and the electronic TB, Everything below the UIM is a Series II. Maake confirmed this

The series 3, L32 motor has stronger rods, the gen v supercharger and electronic TB. It will accept all mods for the L67 and only came on the 04 and 05 grand prix'*.

so none of the bonnies have a series III? bummer...would a swap work?

Many people have swapped gen v supechargers from the S3 to an S2 but as far as I know I'm the only one who has done it to a Boneville.

o.k..so what is the difference between the two superchargers? ours is an EATON M90 right? so what is the gen v?

It'* a much improved version of the Gen III M90 on the S2 L67.

You can get more boost out of one, and they are more efficient. A Gen V with a 3.4" pulley will easily make more power than a Gen III with a 3.4".

Also, the sound is much more fierce. The Gen V on Rogue'* with the 3.0" sounds mean. I was in the car when I heard it.

our superchargers have a valve that keeps the pressure at a normal level until strong acceleration right? so i am bascially normally aspirated until i press the gas enough to see some boost....if i permanently stay in granny mode, then the supercharger isn't increasing compression?

I think you were driving it

The gen V has an abradable wear coating that wears in to an almost perfect seal. This makes the blower more efficient. A gen V will move as much air as a gen III with .2 size smaller pulley (3.4 = 3.2) but at a slower rpm and thus cooler. I picked up 50 horsepower going from my gen 3 3.2 to a gen v 3.0.
