Evaporator Solenoid?

Evaporator Solenoid?
My service engine light has constantly been coming on the last couple of months. I keep on getting the OBD code PO449, which is Evaporation Emission Control System Vent Vlv/Sol Malf. I saw in another forum where somebody had the same problem with a Pontiac Transport, and they said the Evaporator Solenoid was going bad. Would this be the same problem for my 2000 Bonneville SLE? If so, where is the evaporator solenoid located and how much does one usually cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I had my handy dandy book handy (It'* at home, I'm still at work), I'd give you the part number and price.
Wait. I'll look it up the hard way........
.....3 minutes later......
NON supercharged Canister Purge Valve is 1997278, and should be about 20 bucks from www.gmpartsdirect.com or $25-30 from your friendly neighborhood dealer.
It would be cool to see if it'* simply disconnected. It should be below your airbox or under your PCM if memory serves me on the 2k models.

It sits down in a recess (hole) in the driver'* fender, (in the engine bay) beneath your airbox/PCM. You can't miss the canister. It'* round, and should have a filter assembly on top.
