HUD window
When I took my car to get the windows tinted, I had a few chips fixed on the front windshiel as well. There a LOT of chips in the window...the guy at the shop said that a HUD is around 400...
BUT
A regular window will work for ALOT cheaper..say 120 or so....
and he said that he did it in his car and you can hardly tell the difference....
What do you guys think about this? Is is a good idea to go with a regular window or the one made for the HUD?

The HUD windshields have a special film in them so the image only displays once.
What happens when you dont have a HUD specific window is that the light goes through the first pane and shows and image, but also goes through the film and shows up on the outter edge of the 2nd pane of glass. which creates another visiable image.
There is a good chance you will end up with a double or ghost image of the HUD instead of just one.

You won't be happy. Each image will be less than 50% as bright as your current image. The double-ghost image will drive you nuts and be hard to see on bright days. It will be very distracting.
I almost bought a 1992 SSEi last summer with a cheaper WS installed, and the HUD was the first thing that clued me in.
