Default Dies when driving

have a 2002 sle 3800, starts fine, runs for awhile til warmed up and then intermitently just goes dead for very short surge and continues fine for awhile. it does seem to do it more after it is warmed up, shut down and restarted. with the cruise control on, it never kicks it off, it has stalled out a few times, just goes dead. then starts right back up. it does seem to not shift soon enough when rpms get up high, i do have to watch it.. was going to change the speed sensor but i understand there are 2 of them, one easy to get to and the other is a pain to get to. anyone else have a suggestain?

There a number of threads with this same issue. If i remember correctly most people will say check out the Crank Position Sensor. You can test by heating it up very carefully with a heat gun. Im sure there will be more reponses with more detailed info.

Youre losing spark to the module...but it also can be the module, crank sensor as mentioned, cam sensor, or even the harness between crank and cam sensor....ive had this problem before and it drove me crazy....you can start by having the module tested @ autozone for free, hav them test @ least 7xs cause it has to heat up.

I think everything has been covered. What have you had tested so far?

when i did it, i replaced the crank sensor, problem continued....i thought it was losing oil pressure, so i changed oil pressure sensor...problem continued...then on to the ignition module, the problem continued....so i was just checking things one day and i went uplugg the crank sensor and before i can unplugg it i grabbed the wire and it shut off, went to jy and found harness to the crank sen. cam sen....replaced that and problem never came back...if youve changed all this imsure its the harness shorting out @ the connector.
