Crank Position Sensor

I have read most of the posts regarding the removal of the Harmonic Balancer but would like to know if someone here can confirm what tapped holes are present on the balancer. I read in a post that they were 1/4-28, but I believe that they may be 6mm tapped holes. Need to know so I can acquire the correct 3inch long bolts for my puller. My crank position is intermittantly (I believe anyway) causing a misfire which causes the tach to drop until a ignition switch cycle and has recently even caused the engine to completely die. It refires fine. I have the new sensor but would like to confirm which size bolts will be required to pull the balancer off. Also, is the bolt in the crank end a right hand thread. I would guess that it is, as the balancer is keyed, but some balancers are held on with a left hand thread.

My 92 has M6x1 threads, but 1/4-28 is very close and seemed to thread fine before I got the correct bolts. Also, my 92 has typical righty-tighty, lefty-loosey threads on the crank bolt. I don't know why they would have changed that.

Thanks for responding. M6 threads are .014 smaller in diameter than the 1/4-28, and would definitely pull out if the balancer was tapped for 1/4-28. I appreciate your response. I was pretty confident that they are in fact metric and not inch tapped holes. Trying to get all my ducks in a row before I dig into replacing the sensor.
