Default Battery replacement

I haven't posted much here, but I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. My 2003 SSEi is in need of a new battery (well it'* not crapped out yet, but it seems every time I go on vacation I have to replace a battery and I want to get ahead of the game).

Any way what I would like to install is an OPTIMA red top. I can't seem to find one in the right size. Is there a trick? Calls for a size 79. Any help?

Since the battery is mounte dunderneath the backseat, it is not a typical group size.. i dont know of anyonw who had used a red top as of yet in an 00+ bonnie, i think seat cushion/frame clearance might be a bit of an issue

Thanks for the input, that'* exactly what I figured since I couldn't find any reference to a group79. I guess I'll have to do something else.

These 2000+ under seat batteries are vented to the outside through a vent tube that drops out the bottom of the floor board.

I ended up buying an AC-Delco actual replacement from the dealer (= $$$$$). Nobody has 79 size batteries. and I didn't feel like "modifying" the venting system. It'* done, I got it installed in about 10 minutes. Thanks for the replies.

Search...Battery!!! Geez...

That'* my saga and includes dimensions and all for the Group79 batteries. I just went through this a back in March. Dimensions are on the 2nd page.

Some more food for thought for anyone else with this problem...
