DIC one gallon off...
I've had my '03 SLE for over 6 months and the fuel used reading on the DIC is always 1 gallon less than what I put in it at the gas pump. Weather it be city or highway driving - warm or cold. Why? What would make it consistently off by 1 gallon, is there a way to adjust it? I've never had any trouble with the car, or repair work done. Any ideas?

That figure (Fuel Used) is calculated by a processor and is an approximation at best. I also usually put a gallon more than what the DIC reports in my tank when filling up. If you fill your tank the same way every time you fill, then to me that is a more accurate determination of how much fuel was used between fill ups. I also calculate mpg by the meter reading on the pump & the trip meter reading.

The 00'* don't have this, weird. I miss the Aurora DIC which also had avg/speed. Figure 4 hour trip avgeraged 74mph to the cottage, missed that on my last trip, Oh well, not complaining.
My DIC is usually within 1-2 tenths off on everything, pretty good. The aurora was 4-10 off sometimes.
Today, current average gas millage was 16.1. Got love the winter warm ups, when my remote start goes on next week, will be even lower.
