Check Gages-BRAKE light, trac off light, and Antilock light all on
 

I don't know what could be wrong with my car, aside from the occasional service stability indicator light I haven't had any more of those kind of problems with my car. I am fairly certain that that is just a bad wheel positioning sensor, and I wasn't too worried about it because the stability system, although nice in the winter or rainy weather, isn't really necessary.

But as I was pulling out of a local KFC today and drove away I noticed that the TRAC OFF and Anti-Lock lights were on along with the BRAKE light, but my parking brake was not engaged. I have gotten the trac and anti lock lights before when I had a bad hub/wheel speed sensor and once it dried out they went away. I have never had all three of these come on at once, and seeing the brake light I was definitely a little bit scared.

I pulled over, called my boyfriend and he did a quick check, engaged the parking brake and then shut it off, he checked the brake fluid and it is only a sliver below the max, and with several restarts the lights come on automatically still.

I was able to drive it home without any other issues, I still had working brakes and the car didn't drive any different than normal....

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my car and how dangerous it could end up being?

Also,
within the last six months I have put new pads and rotors on both the front and back, a new hub assembly on the right front, new tie rod ends on the front and I have a brand new hub assembly sitting in the garage if the problem might be the left hub assembly.....

I forgot to mention that before the lights came on I had taken a very sharp and rough 90 degree right turn onto the road.....not sure if that would have anything to do with it either.......

Not quite sure why all the lights are coming on. Have you checked to make sure that the wheel speed sensors are still plugged in?

When I had a bad hub assembly, I replaced them both. I've always subscribed to the rule of two. It's always a good idea to replace suspension, brakes, bearings, hubs, tires, shocks and struts in pairs. Usually when one side goes bad, it causes the other side to compensate and have more wear and tear than normal.

Right, I originally bought the two as a pair as well, but the night my boyfriend was going to replace them it started raining after he finished the first and "bad" one and I got busy and haven't made time for him or my stepdad to replace the other one.

I have a feeling it is the other hub, because before hand I had a low air pressure light, so I filled the tires with air and then reset that light. After I got home with all the lights on I looked at the tire pressure in the DIC and now it says Tire Pressure ------------- so I'm assuming that means it can't get a reading and that either the a sensor is unplugged or the other hub just went bad. Either way I am just going to replace the other hub with the new one asap.

The tire pressure is a part of the wheel speed sensor right? and would that not being plugged in cause the BRAKE light too??

Just replaced the other hub/wheel speed sensor and I still have the problem......

I would recommend that you get someone who has a Tech 2 scanner or go to the dealer and have them check the chassis electrical system. It could be something as simple as a ground wire broken or a data communication module that's out.

Yeah that was my next step actually, to go to a dealer to get it scanned...hopefully I can find a repair shop around here that would have the right kind of scanner so I don't have to pay an extreme amount of money at the dealership...

And I hope it really is something rather easy/cheap to fix. :)

Took it in to a repair shop today and for $60 they scanned it, and apparently it needs a new electronic brake control module. They will put a new used one in for $400, but I want to see how much it goes for at gm parts direct.

How labor intensive is it to replace?

Is this my E.B.C.M. ?

I want to clean the connector to it if that is possible and also clean all of the wheel speed sensors too before I spend $400 that might not be necessary.....
