We don't have anything in the tech or how to area on dropping the transaxel.

The level of detail (text and pictures) you will need it might be better to pick up a Haynes or Chilton repair manual. Or, maybe somebody else can provide the info in this thread.

Also, please add your year and trim of your vehicle to your signature line. That way when you start asking questions in other areas of the forum, we all have a better idea on how to assist you. Click on "Quick Links" above, go down to "User Control Panel" and then click on "Edit your Signature" It'* pretty straight forward from there.

I can probably write something up later tonight if you can wait that long.

Do you want to pull both motor and trans out the top or support the motor and drop the subframe and trans only?

Actually I think your reply said it all for me Bill - I really needed confirmation that the subframe needed to be dropped to pull the trans from the bottom. I have most of it pulled apart and realized that the trans cant fit with the subframe in place. I will be pulling this one out from the bottom, and just need to drop the subframe to get it out.

Since i am putting this trans in another car (so i have another removal and install happening over the next few months), any thoughts on what is easier? Pulling to motor/trans up? or dropping the subframe and pulling the trans only?

Thanks!

Your engine relies on the trans for one of it'* two support points. If you are pulling the drivetrain in the end, I'd say yank both up. It'* not a bad job and less of a pain than pulling the subframe. There is a serious amount of things attached to your subframe.

Thanks. I'll see how it goes taking out the subframe this time, and decide if i want to try it the other way. If anyone else has any opinions/experiences with this, please feel free to share. I hate doing things the hard way.
