Default Cause of flooding?

Newbie to the new car scene...

Went skiing today, elevation was about 10,970 ft. My car supposedly flooded today when I tried to start it after it sat for 6 hours. I never even touched the gas pedal! The guy that helped me out said he'd seen it happen alot to Toyota'* at that elevation. I thought everything was computer controlled, doesn't the computer adjust the air/fuel mixture? So how could this happen? Just a fluke thing?

Had this happened to my 72 Scout, wouldn't have been a problem! But with all these electronic/computer controlled gizmo'*, I didn't know where the hell to start! The "Service Engine Soon" light had me worried., I just bought the thing! I'm at a loss with newer automotive technology...wasn't that great with the old stuff to begin with, but I can work through that crap...

You should invest in an Auto Tap scan tool.

Welcome to the club.........
Go up to the "techinfo" section and read the "tech know how"........lots of great info there for a novice like me.......maybe you too.
As for yours.........Put your miles and any other pertinent info in your signature.........
These guys here can pinpoint a lot of problems if they know more about the car.
I'd suggest an oil change.....filter.....fuel filter........"etc"......
Maybe even plugs and wires depending on your mileage.....
Get the basics done.......know where you are in that respect......and the help will come from here......
Good luck
