Car stalled while driving, problems starting after that.

Ok I was driving to work this morning and doing about 30 mph when the engine just died. I pulled to the side of the road put it in park and tried starting it. It started and then died again as if I ran out of gas. I gave it some gas and it fired up and quickly stalled. I called a towing company and they towed it to the nearest garage. The mechanic tried starting it and it did the same thing, it started and stalled right away. He placed a fuel gauge on the front of the fuel line to check the pressure and as he turned the key the car started fine with no stalling. The pressure reading was also normal. He says he can't find nothing wrong with the car. Does anyone have a clue as to why it stalled and why is everything normal at this after that.

The closest I've experienced to something like that was when the MAF (mass air flow) sensor went on my son's car. The difference is that his didn't start running properly again until it was replaced. If it happens again, as a test, when the car does start momentarily, immediately pull the connection to the MAF. IF the car stays running - then it's likely a bad MAF.

You could stop by an Advance Auto or Autozone and ask them to scan it for free. See if any codes come up and help point you in the right direction.

it could be anything at this point. Or maybe something glitched and it'll never happen again.

With so little to go on..it reminds me of a couple different things..but you'd need to nail it down more first.
1. Crank sensor
2. Electrical connection (search on 2000Silverbullet and stalling)

Might also be the crank position sensor.

Might also be one of a hundred other things.

Get a scan. Conjecture at this point without codes or proper diagnostics is a waste of time.

check ignition switch,i had same problem

yup, could be a hundred things, mine was fuel pump. acted the same way. Mine would stall driving down the highway, put tran in neutral, restart car, put tran in d, loose about 5 mph. Eventually it did it and never restarted. I had also replaced crank sensor earlier thinking it was that.

$349.99 plus 60.00 labour and car runs like new. I want to thank everyone that participated in this post and I hope it helps someone else with the same problem.

It likely could, if you'd let us know what the problem was. ;) What did they replace?
