You can also get a reman trans from Jasper Engines & Transmissions for just a little under $2,000 with a 3 year, 75k warranty, not as good as the GM one, but hey, its up to you if you have an extra $1000 to work with!

Umm, first off I think were talking about a driveability problem and secondary transmission problem. Do transmissions cause intermittant driveability problems? If they do, it'd be a first for me.

The only intermittant part about it is that there are no problems until the motor is around its normal operating temperature. When at that point the longer i drive the worse the symptoms get.

Converter parts are aluminum and do not stick to the magnet. If its sticking to the magnet then most likely its other parts in the trans.

i just had a friend of mine with a tech2 scanner do a code read and i got these codes p1811which was something about a long shift? I also got p1361 and p1362 so i have a ignition problem. My friend said that it is most likely the ignition control module and a failing torque converter. He gave me a wiring skematic and diagnostic trooble shooting list for the ignition module so i will be seing if that is the problem. Also showed that it could be the pcm.

thanks for the help everyone i will keep everyone posted to what the actual problem is.
By the was does anyone know how much a ignition control module is.

the control module is the box under the coils they are seperate the coils connect to the control module. He was just saying that the torque converter was also a problem.
