Can any one explain this one? (FIXED! Fuel Pump)

I drove my car about a 100 round trip. when i got off the express way it started surging and cut off. if i started it back up it would go until i had to slow down again then same thing. fuel pressure was reading 38psi but when you gave it gas it would drop to about five psi and shut down. let the car sit over night started did a pressure check without vacuum applied to fpr. It read about 52 psi plug the vacuum line back up i was between 39 and 43 psi but would go to about 50 psi if you hit the throttle.. could this be a bad pump that is only showing up when it gets hot or ign module? any help would be appreciated. thanks

If the pressure drops that low, I'd suspect the fuel pump. The SSEis have a 2 speed pump, and perhaps the slower speed is not working as well after running for a while. Have you changed the fuel filter?

forgot to mention this is a walbro fp that is about 2 years old

changing fuel filter now will try to drive it hard and see what turns up once it heats up

ok changed the filter. drove pretty hard it seem to work fine at first but at about 115mph it started to surge no power then pick up as if it was starving for fuel think im going to have to change the pump.

replaced the pump. Seems to have solved all my problems.
