Rotor Suggestions
Hey All
Having trouble finding better quality REAR break rotors
for my 2k SE
prefer slots (not drilled) and can find lots of performance
front rotors but little in the way of rears...
Any commentary on pad compounds.
Ceremic are OEM but a few shops recommend composite
pads as opposed to the factory ceremic pads.
Looking to do rotors / pads in the near future
anyone have some good recommendations?
Thanks !

I can understand wanting slots if you have them on the front, however a premium grade Bendix or Raybestos rotor should work well...adn I'd stick with ceramic.
Any reasoning behind the suggestion for other pads by the mechanic?

Thanks for the responces so far...
The reason behind composite breaks was threefold.
Firstly time to heat to operation - Durning the winter months
I was told they are fade prone and slow to reach operational
temps.
Secondly was composites provide more "feedback" prior
to locking up. Better pedal responce or feel
Lastly was that once heated up they tend to stay hot
longer and may contribute to rotor warpage since the
area of the rotor covered keeps it'* heat longer and
might be another reason behind the warping issue.
The downside was increased rotor wear and more dusting.
Now this is opinion from my wrench whom I've a longstanding
relationship with but he is from Boston Mass so I donno if it
holds weight with a conn. man (big grin - jus kiddin')
Im not after looks or flash with slots merely better performance in the
wet... which is terrible with my bonne, takes a second to squeeze off
to film of water befor I get feedback and usually then its a hard grab.
I do appreciate the input!
Need to get the breaks serviced soon and was planning on ceremic
shoes - and was a bit taken aback by my wrench poo-pooin' the idea.

I got my slotted and drilled rotors (front and rear) from rotorpors.com. Decent pricing (don't remember the exact amount), and they are good quality. You can get drilled, slotted or both.
I have had the slotted and drilled for over 6 months now, and they work great. I do notice a slight improvement with brake fade (I don't do much hard braking, though), and everything else was just as good as OEM. I also used Bosch Premium pads (ceramic). I do get a little skeaking from them, but it'* quite rare.
All in all, I like them, and they look very nice. You won't notice too much performance gain from them, but aesthetically they do the car well.
