Default Brackets Near Rear Valve Cover

Hello. I believe I did some reading and thought some people may have mentioned that these brackets are not necessary. Can some people (with more experience than I) provide some insight on if they are needed and their intended use?

Thanks!

The rear one holds the fuel lines in place. Both are really only there to lift the engine out. I removed mine and then made a small bracket to clip the fuel lines on.

I removed mine to get more clearance to change the rear spark plugs. Makes a big difference.

Thanks, 2KG4U. That is what I was thinking, much easier to get at the rear plugs. Did you do anything fancy to mount the fuel lines that were on there? I was thinking of just using some zip ties?

I would mount the fuel lines in a fabricated bracket to avoid chafing, don't forget there is gasoline under pressure in the lines.
Roger.

I think I used wire looms ... similar to what holds spark plug wires neatly in place.
