ignition timing
i have a Actron cp9145 scanner,
the book(Actron) says (IGN ADV for cylinder is a signal of how much spark adv to add to base engine timing)
well i have 34deg to 35.5deg with the cruise control set at 70 MPH on a flat road
at WOT 2500 RPMs it drops to 5.5deg of advance
at WOT 5800 RPMs it is 7.5deg of advance
don't YELL AT ME but this is with 87 oct. gas ($2.21gal) and stock pulley 3.8"
p.* going to the strip tonight to see what ETs i get with 87(sic) and stock pulley
anybody care to guess? ET @ MPH

Umm... you have an aftermarket pulley, running 87? That'* really bad, dude.
Even if that is the stock pulley, put in some 91+ in that beast..

3.8" is the stock size pulley, my 3.3" pulley is in the trunk.
no guess on the ET or SPEED?
i think 15.0 at 91 MPH after the sun sets !

Rod, I would say you're seeing some serious KR on that 87 octane. You should see about 15* of timing at WOT if you had 0 KR. If you're seeing 7.5 degrees of timing, I would venture to say you are seeing at least 7-8* KR. Do not race the car. You will be slow. It'll be a waste.

5 degrees of timing is about 10 degrees of KR. Did you log KR or 02'*? Torque managment can also do this to you if you spun the tires agressively.
87 octane is bad, your approaching the point where the PCM can't pull any more timing and then it will pull fuel and then you go lean and the your pistons go boom.

Don't do it Rod.
Can't help it I have to yell at ya.
My guess will be 15.5 sec @ 90 mph......just before the big boom.
...and what are you trying to prove. Save $10 in fuel and risk a mega$$ engine job.

I just posted my times and it made the times appear in red and they became underlined . Dont pay any attention to it its not like you can click on it to go to a different web site. The time in my signiture is also in red and I would like to know how to get rid of it.
