Default Service Engine Soon and some ticking

Bah what the heck. I'm the 2nd owner and the car has only 60k miles and it throws a light tonight. Whatever.

Anyway, I can't get to a dealer to get it scanned during the week, but this Saturday I'll probably be out of town. So maybe haro will let me use this Aeroforce gauge if I can make it the week after. .........
So it looks like I gotta guess on this one for awhile. I was thinking the front o2 could be bad because I'm sure its the original. Then maybe something with the wheel speed sensors because my "Service Stability System" light comes on 2-3 times a day now and Intense recommended cleaning the WSS connectors (another thing I need to get around to). But then I popped the hood and heard a decent ticking.

Ok any of you have rockers? You know that sound you get where you can hear your valvetrain REALLY well after 1.9'*? Well this is a stock valvetrain and it could be louder. I put my ear up to the engine and I can't be positive where its coming from. I could be hearing it through the SC when I put my ear up to the fuel rails, but I can also hear it when I put my ear up the front valve cover. I don't "think" its my SC gears because this car doesn't feel like its ever been abused and the snout sounds normal.

I've replaced the plugs and wires, put in a FWI, 3.5 pulley, and a solid front trans mount. So I'm pretty baffled as to whats going on. Car still drives and rides fine with 32mpg when cruising. So um....huh? :?

lol. Have you tried taking your SC belt off to see if the noise is still there? I have some weird ticking as well but it'* just a matter of getting around to taking the SC belt off and starting it. Not like i don't have the free time or anything. It'* to bad you can't get an extender for the OBD2 cable or i'd offer to scan your car with my Aeroforce but the wires are stretched pretty tight the way i routed them under the dash.

Getting slightly off topic here, but how did you route your cable? I can remove my dash vent cluster with the gauge in it, and the cable within 30 seconds from my car. I just have the Aeroforce cable stuck in there behind the gauge.

The way the power wire runs up and over to the HUD switch for it'* power source doesn't give me much slack to move it around, Maybe i'll put it on a disconnect of some sort at some point so i can scan other things.
