This is the situation...... I got into a minor fender bender and I noticed some coolat on the street checked the resevior and it was empty didn't think anything of it and just drove home. When I got to the house the radiator was boiling and steam was escaping. Seems like there was no release of pressure. I drained the radiator and filled with water same problem. No I ran the heat on high and no hot air is coming out I did fill the radiator again with coolant to see if that would help. Now the steam is coming out of the drivers side not the radiator cap. I have a new thermostat and seal which I will be installing soon, would like some opinions on which direction I should go

First it is always a good idea to post the year and model of your vehicle. You can do that in your signature so that it is permanent. If you see coolant on the ground it is never a good sign, it will only get worse. The lack of heat is due to no pressure build up. Without pics it is hard to offer an opinion but I'm guessing you should opt for a new radiator. When you say that steam is coming out of the drivers side is that the drivers side of the radiator. Do not try to refill the radiator while the car is hot, you can easily ruin the heads or crack the block. The safest and permanent fix will probably be a new radiator. You can take a chance on a J/Y but it'* still a gamble. Just my two cents worth.

I was thinking its the water pump.... drivers side on the top pressure building up and releasing, I am not refilling while the car is hot I little sit for a few hours

Air trapped in the system will cause the system to not function correctly. Get the leak fixed, replace the t-stat and fill the system with 50/50 coolant and water. Bleed the air off the system with the bleed screw on the top of the t-stat housing. You will need to do that a couple of times after the radiator cap is on, and the t-stat is open.

Where the bracket connects the radiator to the frame there is a plastic **** that slides onto the bracket that was cracked. I threw some glue made for hot temps and let sit for 24 hours to cure. I noticed when the coolant was coming out that it was cool and the steam was from the coolant running down and getting on the hot parts.
