Default Transmission shiftyness

I love the Bonny, but the one and only complaint I have about it is the way it shifts. For city cruising the car seems to get into the higher gears really quick and does not want to get out of them unless I press the accelerator over half way down. By the time I do that I am really moving. Are there any shift adjuster kits available? I do not want to change the way it shifts but when. I would assume that could be done through the computer.

You would have to get a reprogrammed PCM. DHP offers a reprogrammed PCM for the 2000+ SSEi'*, it is $450. It will change shift points (downshift & upshift points), fuel tables, and lots of things like that. From what I have heard about the DHP PCM, for the $450 they will program the PCM for anything you want done to it, say you want the shiftpoints raised so it shifts at 6200 instead of 6000, they can do that. Say you want 20 degrees of timing advance instead of 17, they can also do that. I think if you got a DHP you would be quite suprised at what it does to the cars shifting and the power boost you get from it.

There is also an ASE chip available, but I don't know much about it, it may do some of those things also. I will let someone like 2000SilverBullet or somebody that has that chip tell you about that.

I don't have either PCM mod just yet but do have info on the ASEchip.
Just checked their website and it says that they are not open for business right now!??

Quote:
ASE Chips are programmed using the latest in technology.
When you purchase an ASE Chip you can be assured that you have bought the best chip in the market.
ASE does not promise more performance; ASE guarantees it!

ASE Chip provides the following:

· INCREASED top speed governor to Mach 1.
· INCREASED Rev limiter by 500 R.P.M. from stock.
· INCREASED Ignition and Fuel tables.
· INCREASED transmission line pressure.
· Modified shift points.
· OBD-II compliant; Means NO MILs.
· Improved Drivability.
· PNP Interchangeable Chip system. (The ASE Chip can be switch when need be, e.g., when taking your vehicle in for service or repairs.)
· LIFETIME WARRANTY.

Note: The ASE Chip CAN NOT BE REFLASHED by the Dealer or anyone with a TECH II scanner.

ASE may be the New kids on the block, but, proven to be the BEST!
