255 / 50 WR 17
What do you guys think of that size of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS :?:
What about Bridgestone Potenza RE750 :?: I couldn't find a Hi-Po Yokohama of that size. |
my next tires are def gonna be bridgestone potenza's...i love the look
|
Was talking with a clupgp member from Smithers (45miles from me) who has the g force t/a's and he told me they were crap in the rain but great on dry pavement?
I think the Potenzas are a better choice? |

Which ever brand you decide to go with that is the maximum size for the stock 17"s, 255/50/17 ;)
Did you try the Kumhos? |
Made my decision today and ordered the Potenza RE750 tires.

Finally got them installed today. Perfect fit. Great ride and I can feel the handling improvement........it's nice and sunny and dry today. :D http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...0_139_full.jpg Now I am waiting patiently for the Lsd and new INTENSE burn. :P |
Temp - A
Traction - AA Treadwear - 340  |
Now you can do 80mph or 120kph however that is, and not even have to slow down on the curves.
|
Great looking tire you got there. :bling: I was going 2 get the Potenza's
but ran across those BFG G forces 4 $80 each & I couldn't beat that. I haven't had any problems with running in the rain. They seem ok 2 me. You can caught me doing 85 in the rain. |
Looking good Paul, that's 2 goodies in just a couple days, stickies and a 3.3

Looking good Paul, that's 2 goodies in just a couple days, stickies and a 3.3 The tires were long overdue, even with only 32,000 km on them, they were the original RSA's. I spun them thru 5 summers and the last one at WCBCM04 was particularly hard on them. ......and now I have a full 10 psi of boost......love to peg gauges. :D |
I love the tread. Amazing how much confidence a tire can add to the road manners of a car.
Have you tested out that speed rating yet? |
Have you tested out that speed rating yet? She just got home from picking up my son at Army Cadets. He comes running in confirming to me that the boost gauge really does go full scale now to 10 psi.  :x |

Just got back from a weekend in Vancouver.
A wet weekend. I actually got the Bonne wet. :( But it was the perfect test for the new rubber in all kind of wet road conditions, from damp to inches of pooled water with the wipers on full time. It was also dark and foggy. The tires handled it all fantastically. :D I could hardly believe the traction. I did some full throttle accel runs around corners at 40 mph and the tires never even broke loose a few times. The Low trak light didn't come on. I left the traction control on because of my previous experiences with wet roads and boost and because I still don't have the Lsd yet. The cornering force was astounding. I swear that they corner as well in the wet as my old RSA's cornered in the dry. I even threw it into a few corners and broke traction just to feel how they respond to sliding in the wet. Perfectly controlable.  I passed everyone and was the first home from the ferry......with the wipers on full blast in a cloud of mist and fog. :slomo: I can't wait to try them on dry roads. |
