Default Supercharger Oil Leak

While checking out a noisy pulley on the supercharger belt tensioner, I saw some oil spinning off the end of the shaft for the supercharger. Later, I watched as it dripped off the end. I could not find anyplace on the end of the snout, nor the inside of the pulley where it was leaking. This sounds similar to what 2000silverbullet reported with his "Mystery Oil Leak" post . I would wonder if the snout seal has gone bad. Has anyone replaced this? Alldatadiy says to replace the whole supercharger, and not to service individual parts. Seems a bit drastic to me.

why would you replace the whole supercharger.... that is rediculous.. i would replace just the seal.

However, my better judgement tells me that when something breaks, replace it with a performance part...

I woulld prefer to just replace the seal.. Anyone know how to do that, or have instructions, and a part number. I could tear it apart and try the "seat of my pants" type of repair, but prefer instructions. Or, is that being "penny wise, pound foolish:? (I seem to be in cliche mode this morning ) 66k miles seems a bit soon for that seal to go, so is there maybe something else wrong that caused it is what I'm wondering. I changed the oil in it at 48,000. Thanks for the link. I all else fails I may have to go that route.

My GTP was doing the same thing, but you could start to hear the nosedrive grind when you shut the motor off. At the time I had WPI (no longer in business if I recall) rebuild a snout for me with new seals and the ZZP coupler.
