Intensr PCM Tray Location
Anyone have pics of the PCM traylocation when you installed an Intenser PCM? I am in the process of installing an Intense PCM and wonder what other members have done.
I did do a search but did not find any pics.

you can see the tray under the tubing. i only used two of the bolts they provided, then realised the one nearest the wheel wasnt holding. so i went to home depot and got a different screw with washers and a nut. fit perfectly.

Thank you. I will see if I can come up with a mounting position that wiill protect it from the wetness. There is not a lot of room to be creative.
I think I need to get out of my box.

I'll try to get a picture up later. You don't have to worry too much about the elements. The box and connectors are pretty well waterproof.
Edit - OK - here'* mine and it'* in basically the same spot. The wiring to the PCM only gives you so many options.
I only used one screw, and the rest is held down with double-sided trim mounting tape. Not liking to drill unnecessary holes, if I'd been thinking, I would have mounted the entire tray that way. Talking with Todd (Rogue) that was how he had his PCM mounted originally, and they had a devil of a time getting it out, so it works well.

The cabling that you see for the PCM is one limiting factor for placement. It'* not super tight on mine, but moved any further and it would have too much stress on it for my liking. A combination of the length of the cabling, and the amount of room between the wheel housing and the FWI tube limits placement along the inside of the fender.
The shape of the wheel housing didn't give what I thought to be a solid enough mount, and I wanted as straight of a shot into the TB from the FWI tube as possible, and placing it there would have interfered with that. I don't recall everything that I did, but it took me longer to decide where to place the PCM, than it did for the entire installation. Try a few things, and see what you like.

Tom..technically the pcm is sealed from the weather and could be mounted anywhere. I agree about trying to protect it though. I believe I've seen one or two mounted to the strut tower.

Tease shot. Thanks for all the help. I should have a complete picture install up tonight once I return from the pool with the family.

I like that position Tom. I cut off the one tab on the right side when I mount them and angle it a bit such as in this pic when I mounted Darren'* (Phoenix) last week. Your position seems to protect the wire harness and contacts better IMO.

PCM Tray
Is the PCM Tray an absolute must? I didn't know to order it. I am finally getting around to installig the PCM. Could I not just use the super sticky double-sided trim tape to hold it down right where this "tray" typically sits?
Also I just read an older note from BonnEvil who said he ran his new PCM w/o a CASE relearn for six months including hard racing w/o any problems or noticeable effects once performed. Comments?
