2002 SSEi with 160,000 miles for $5000 - a good deal?
Hi,
There is a local 2002 SSEi with 160,000 miles on it and the lowest I have been able to get the guy down to is $5000... A good deal or? |
That will depend on how well it was cared for. If it's been beaten and neglected, no. If it was cared for and maintained yes.

Yeah, it was a bit rough...
Had peeling paint in a spot... I wish samgash702 would get a hold of me with his 2002 SSEi! |
That car in fair condition with a private party is $4705 In good condition it's $5800, so $5000 is about right.

i don't know but that seems like too much money. i, personally, wouldn't pay over $4000 for a car with that many miles. i don't care how "new" it is... i bought my alero with 92,000 on it for $3500. granted, its not a bonneville but 160,000 is ALOT of miles and I think you could do better.

Here in Detroit they are selling for around $5,000 with about 120k or so in fairly good condition... I wouldn't rush into a sale, but rather wait for a great opportunity. I am sure that you will find a good one when it comes up. For example, I put in a $2400 offer on a 2000 with 78k, (they wanted $3000). They said no right off the bat. Called me 2 weeks later, said they were in need of serious funds, and they accepted my offer. $600 less and I was pretty happy that I had a car with low miles in great shape for $2400 with $600 spare to invest in making it in even better condition. I am currently checking all electrical systems, so I hope to have it all together and on this site in the next few weeks. Moral of the story, I think that you could do better, try giving the seller a price that you see reasonable, and then continue to look accordingly.
