Default Oil pressure down + toc -cloc-toc-cloc HELP!!!!!!

Yesterday i noticed that my oil pressure was boucing , it was at normal pressure but always moving like 1-2 millimeter..bouncing...

Today at like 4 minutes from where i live, comin back home after work, i noticed that my gauge was bouncing again, then at accelerate in first, not at WOT but just to get a little boost and then i heard a little clunk-cloc, higher the engine is reving, faster it do that:
toc-cloc-toc-cloc-toc-cloc...
It was worst and worst in the 4 minutes remaining to get home, i tried to get home at idle speed...
I noticed that my oil pressure is now very low and bouncing, back home i opened the hood and the sound is coming from where the harmonic balancer is,

In december my crank shaft sensor behind the harmonic balancer has been changed
My mechanic did the repair but i think he didnt tight the bolt at 110 with the torque wrench, only with the impact gun.

Im wondering if it can be that, or that my harmonic balancer need replacement??

But why im getting low pressure ??
No smoke coming out of my exhaust and it idle fine and seem to accelerate smooth.

Please tell me that my engine is not dead

I only got 2 month without any issue then now im ready again to hit my car in a wall :?

and some days ago, i noticed that my engine was vibrating at a certain rpm.(a small amount of vibration but still anormal i think.)

Not like a bad valve sound but like something is unbalanced.

edit: i just verified, i dont had lost any oil, and no apparant leak, i restarted the car and the sound is clearly coming from one of the pulley close to the harmonic balancer, sometime it sound like metal on metal.

Assuming your oil level is fine then my guess is a bad oil pump, or sending unit which may be the cause of your tic tocking. Could either be lifters which aren't pumping up or a possible spun bearing due to not enough lubrication. These are only guesses though and you want to have it towed to a shop for evaluation (I wouldnt drive it).

Oil pump look to be a good starting point.

Can it make noise like that when broken?

Im sure its not my lifter, i already had gummed lifter a while ago when my intake gasket was bad and it isnt the same thing and the sound is coming from the very bottom of the engine.

Get it towed to the guy that worked on it before. Have him make sure the harmonic balancer is tight, and then hook up an external oil pressure gauge to see what the oil pressure is if the noise is still there. If its not the harmonic balancer I would guess oil pump like rogue said which means you probably spun a bearing if its making a knocking noise.

When you say spun a bearing , what it mean, and what is involved?
part to change, what to remove, cost?

guys.

From your description I'm on the spun bearing side of the wall also.

Spun bearing is what you don't want to hear Mike. The bearing between the pistion rod and crank is worn down, shot and the clunking you hear (if spun bearing) would be the rod and crank smacking together as the engine runs. Low oil pressure is directly related since the bearing is gone and the tolerance in space are now great oil is freely pouring out and there is not enough pressure to maintain the amount needed for the other bearings not to wear out.

If it is a spun bearing, it will be cheaper to put in a used motor then to repair it unless you are doing all the labor yourself in which case I would still put in a used motor as its a PITA to have to pull the pistons and redo the bearings and even then you would want a machine shop to check tolerances etc...its bad all the way around.

I hope its not the case for you, but I fear it is. Another possibility is you may have broken a pump shaft in the trans and the clunking could be a dry converter (as fluid is not moving around in the trans) but if that were the case I would think you would have drive problems.

May also be a cracked flexplate. There are so many things, I wouldn't even begin to try and guess. Your best bet is to get it to a mechanic.

I called the dealer today, he think main bearing. Or spun bearing...

the sound is coming from the really bottom of the engine.
It really sound like a bad bearing running metal on metal(sometime) + the knocking sound.

I still have a warranty, i can swap to my original intake system but i have a solid front motor mount, i hope it will pass. (its not a dealer warranty but this dealer trade with the warranty...)

I dont feel very good right now.

Already putted like 2300$ in 2 year since i have this car. Just in repair, not including maintenance like 3 bearing etc...

My car is aunted
