Service Engine light intermittent
Hey guys,
I was on a 3500 mile road trip recently and the car was great (2000). My service engine light came on at one point, but everything was running fine so I assumed it was an emissions related system and kept driving. 200 miles later it went off. Usually in my experience once an issue is detected, a code is set and the light stays on until cleared. Anyone have ideas off hand for a condition that could be intermittent and not store a code in memory? Does the old paper clip trick still work on the ALDL connector?
Thank you,
-Shawn

Depending on the issue and testing frequency of that system the light can come on and go off on it'* own.
There will be a stored code that can be retrieved and it is suggested to do so, that way you can look into and possibly keep from having a spendy repair later on.
