Update: Harsh Trans Shifting Fixed with Shift Kit!
Some time back....oh, last year or so after purchasing my 2000 SLE, i was experiencing the harsh shifting of the bonneville beast due to PCS issues.
After some posting and such, i did the seafoam treatment with no permanent fix found. After some suggestions from other members i did a shift kit install.
I went with the thrasher kit and i am so so happy to report that now i have no issues whatsoever with harsh shifting in the car. Honestly..until just this morning when i remembered i use to have the problems...i had completely forgotten about the whole ordeal! That just goes to show how well this worked for me.
I highly recommend it to anyone experiencing the harsh shifts from the PCS solenoid issues and such. I went with the lowest shift firmness setting and couldn't be happier.
Just a update for anyone out there on the fence with this.
(disclaimer-this worked for me.....can't say it would fix anyones problem though...haha)

Can you describe the problems you were having prior to installing the shift kit? I just want to make sure that it'* similar to my problems. I've always heard that you should never install a shift kit in a transmission that'* not working perfectly.
But, I've heard a lot of stupid things over the years!
You know, things like:
You're over 30, it'* time to be responsible.
You've got a wife and kids, it'* time to get rid of your toys.
You know all of that bad advice!

If its just shifting a little funny. Then a shift kit will correct that. To be more accurate, a fluid and filter change will fix that. With most problems, one of the first suggested fixes is new fluid and filter. The shift kit will shorten the shift time and make it more firm.
