Memory Seating???
Well this is my first post and just wanted to start out with a hello and nice to meet you.
I just purchased a 2000 SSEI, and am having problems with the memory seating. Basically they do not work what so ever. When I push the button nothing happens, when I try to set it, nothing happens. I read the manual, and it said that in the DIC (Control center) you can go into programming options, and there is a seating option. I went into there, and I can find every option but the memory seating option. I checked the fuse under the rear seat and it is fine. My next step is back to the dealer but I would like to figure this out before they tell me it is something that isn't cover and then bend me over and stick it in my . If anyone knows of anything to try, or had this problem before please elaborate for me. It is the only thing wrong that is pissing me off. When I got it, it was missing the keyless, but the buttons inside should still do the trick shouldn't they? Please let me know. Thanks....................Ryan

Did you check the circuit breaker (30amp) in the rear fuse block for the power seats? There is also a MEM fuse (10amp) for the memory seat module in the rear fuse block.

Yea I checked the fuse, and Its ok. The power seats work fine, its just the memory seating that isn't working. I took out the door handle cup yesterday with the memory seating on it, and tested the wires. There is a black/white and a yellow that are always ground, and then two others that show a ground when their respective memory button is pushed. I'm thinking the yellow wire is suppose to be showing 12v and not a ground, so I'm thinkin there is something unplugged somewhere. I'm gonna bring my test light and go test drive a different SSEI and just check it out. If anyone knows how to test their'* I would be very appreciative. Thx.....................Ryan

The BLK/WHT should be grounded, it terminates at S500. The YEL should not be grounded, it is pwr for the backlight on the Memory Personalization Function Switch. The Memory 1, Memory 2 switches (wht, ppl respectively) should go to ground when operated. It looks like you're going in the right direction with the troubleshooting effort,
good Luck.

Yea I'm an MECP certified installer, so I know what im doing when it comes to car electronics. The yellow is most likely powered when lights are on, I tested during the day and didn't even think about that. Everything seems to work as it should, it just doesn't do anything. The fuses are fine, the switch is fine, not sure what the prob is. A buddy of mine has a friend that works at the local Chevy dealer, prob just take it to him. Thx for your help, will post with what the prob was just in case anyone runs into it. Cya...................Ryan

It is located left front door, it ties all the backlight commons together. S500 is the designation for this junction. I'm not all that savvy with automobile type electrical schematics, but I'm learning.
