2000 SE traction control

Does anybody know how to disengage TA on my 2000 SE.

SORRY *TC*

Do you mean other than depressing the traction control button? That doesn't fully eliminate it either. You could pull the connection from a wheel speed sensor, or put in an inline switch to turn it on and off. Those will set a code, however. And it will disable the ABS.

There is no button to depress on the 2000 se model. Just curious if there was anything easy anybody else with the same car has tried

ddalder 06-29-2007 12:06 PM

I suspect you probably don't have TC on your SE. Look on your spare tire cover for the 'Service Parts Identification' label. If you don't have RPO code NW9, you don't have traction control. You will have ABS, but this is another system entirely and can't be disabled (except as noted by Archon).

EDIT:

There are different systems available on the 2000+ Bonnevilles.

1. ABS - Standard on all cars.
2. Traction Control - Usually not seen until the SLE, but available as a factory option on the SE (if specifically ordered).
3. Stabillitrak - Full stability control system, only available on the SSEi or GXP.

I have an SE with the Traction Control option and it DOES have a button. So as ddalder suggests, since you don't have a button as I do, you DON'T have traction control.

I just figured she had TC b/c on ice if I pin the throttle it won't just spin, the tires will spin then I can hear the engine rev down, then spin again, and rev down again..etc.
