Trouble getting snout off supercharger
This is a followup to a post I made a few weeks ago (https://www.gmforum.com/t285573/)
I finally got time to change the oil and coupler in my supercharger last night. Problem was, I could not get the snout off to change the coupler. I followed the directions Danthurs posted here but found accessing the bolt under the snout very difficult. I realize his writeup was on a supercharger removed from the engine but I thought it was posible to remove the snout while the supercharger was still installed. Am I wrong? Does the entire supercharger have to come out first? If not, is there a special technique I need to know about to access the bottom bolt? I tried to get at it but gave up quickly because it was getting late and I did not want to disable my wife'* car. Any help'* appreciated.

I was using a 10mm deepwell socket and a 6" extension. I could remove all of the bolts (including the one to the LIM) but the one directly under the snout. With my socket and extension I was hitting the pully and couldn't get a good angle on it. Without the extension I couldn't get on the bolt.
It was getting late and I didn't want to work forever getting the bolt out just to turn around and have to work forever to put it back in. If you guys say it'* possible, I guess I'll plan to start earlier in the day some weekend.

I've done it. the question is...did I use the shallow 10mm universal socket. I probably did, because I'm all about easier. Although there are enough people that have done it..where it probably is possible without the swivel socket.
