Default Ringy ding ding

One of my pulleys are making a school bell sound, to the front of car.On the 2000 im not sure what pulleys are what but may be A/C or above that.Has anybody had this happen it kind of sounds like a steel wheel spinning loosely on a steel shaft, hence the bell ringing sound, maybe a bearing.

while the car is running turn the AC on and see if the rining stops, the AC compressor has a clutch on it that when it starts to wear out it will make a similar sound as described, but will go away when the clutch is dis-engaged (when the AC is turned on)

After diagnosing like Toasty suggests...I'd then pull the belt off and move each pulley by hand. At the point of them making so much noise you should be able to feel which one is bad, unless it'* the AC...that'* one you usually can't just feel from the top.

Checked while driving and noise went away twice , stopped checked it at idle with a/c on and noise stayed.Got home and noise was not there without a/c on but i am almost positive it is a/c.If it is is that a whole compressor change and what does that entail?THANKS

Usually a mechanic.

Please..remove the tension from the belt and work each pulley by hand. Typically if it'* an AC compressor the noise is a constant on or off depending.. you had varied results.

Yeah, but from what I've heard, yours is a whole lot easier to remove/replace than the '96-'99. Piece of cake is what it is, lol.
