Question on Coolant
Some say the coolant that'* recommended for our cars is no good and ends up as sludge. Is this the general consensus? What'* the good stuff? Should I take what'* in the car now out and put something else back in before it turns to sludge? Anybody have any other thoughts or opinions on this subject? I'm at 24,000 mi.

The Dexcool shouldn't be a problem sludging up. If you do coolant flushes every couple years, or so many miles, it shoulld be fine.

Prestone is good stuff, use it in my GP and Impala and used in my ol 77 Bonneville never had one problem! Haven't tried in any in my new baby yet tho (SLE)! Good luck finding a good coolant!

Dexcool
My Bonneville is the 2nd car I have owned that used Dexcool.I had a 97 Jimmy and I had so many problems with the dexcool..I had to replace the water pump,Intake manifold gaskets and had to have numerous acid flushes. It also had a lot to do with the radiator cap too..The rad caps that GM used were losing pressure. But to get back on the subject, they improved dexcool since then and from what I see in my Bonnie there is no sign of sludge what so ever..(it is a 2001 and it has over 100k miles..The previous owner took very good care of it.)You should have nothing to worry about.
