Unhappy 00' Bonneville SE No Dash Vents, Only Floor and Defroster

Hello.
I recently purchased my 2000 Bonneville and registered for your forum. It has been quite helpful.
However, i recently had a buddy install a JVC Double DIN DVD Player. The wiring install went fine, however when he was trimming the sub-dash assembly to allow for clearence of the back of the unit, he slightly damaged the ribbon connector that goes behind the radio housing. Since then though, my A/C system only blows air out of the top defrost vent, and the vents on the floor by your feet. It is a manual climate control, speed selection works, and the A/C itself works (Its gets cold) and is able to be shut on and off. But it no longer blows heat or blows from anywhere else besides the floor and the defrost vent. On any other car i would have thought that it would have been a vacuum problem, but i have read that the 2000+ cars do not use a vacuum system.
Also, when he was trimming the sub-frame (i was in the car when he did it), the hacksaw blade made contact with the ribbon and caused it to spark. It blew the fuses for my dash lights and my foglights, which after being replaced work perfectly fine. But now my traction control is no longer able to be disabled (Not really a big issue), and the little light where you insert your keys in the ignition no longer works....
I really would appreciate any help that can be rendered.... I really dont want to have to take the car to the dealership to have them fix it as im a broke college kid :(
Thanks for reading....

I've never noticed how the 00+'* move air. Although it'* worth checking to see if it is vacuum operated.

Otherwise it sounds like something in that wiring is not making good contact

Bummer. Usually pulling the dash to fix something like this isn't all that hard.

The earlier 92-99 generations have about 8 bolts and out they come.

Yah I don't have any suggestions where to look for a new one, it'* not really a common part

you can trying contacting the guys at www.moradpartscompany.com and maybe the next time they get a 2000+ they can save that harness for you because I don't think they normally do
