Angry rear shocks

i wanna get new shocks for the back on my 00 sle, cant afford to fix my elc compressor cuz the salvage yards here want 125 for a used one plus my shocks are frozen with moisture so i need them too. is there a replacement shock i can put in with out the elc stuff... like an air shock i can air up witha air hose not built in or just a normal shock? i am out of work and need to do this cheap but cant drive around the way it is now.. anyone got any ideas? part numbers? prices?

thanks a ton!

If you need to replace the struts your best bet will be Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto Take a look at what they have.

My suggestion is to buy a pair of Monroe air shocks # MA822, then purchase an adapter kit AK-29 that will fit the shocks and allow you to fill manualy. You should be able to get the job done for under 90.00. You can find these at Rock Auto or most auto stores can order what you need

If the compressor works hot wiring it, then most likely the leveling switch has gone bad. Just forward of and behind the driver'* rear tire. It has a rod connected to it. Make sure the connection to it'* tight and isnt corroded and it has free play first.

yeah either that or the RIP module behind the seat that controls it all... i dont wanna waste time and money on it, never tow or haul anything at all so dont need it, wont affect handeling or anything cuz i already took er for a spin without everything hooked up, just the shocks
thanks for all the help tho! glad i came across this forum, sure i will be on here often!
