Default Changed my fuel level sensor and gas gauge still not working!

I replaced my fuel level sensor on my 03 SSEi and my gas gauge is still not working correctly. According to the catalogue, it calls for part Fuel Level Sensor Dorman 911-022. Now, the gauge is worse now than before.

This is the unit I purchased => https://www.autohausaz.com/search/pr...ber=RB-911-022

Any ideas?

The gas gauge now fluctuates from E to F depending on whether I am going uphill or downhill. It also stays on E when I'm driving along on the highway. The rest of my gauges are normal.
Regards

kind of lost, i guess i would go back over my connections, maybe reseat the pcm connector(wires go to pcm and are transferred via serial bus). that seems to be the right sender. i guess i would measure the resistance of it and make sure that is within spec. could also be a wire touching somewhere when you go up or down.

what did it do before?

I'm with Justin on this one. Since you have the access panel I would pull the pump and check to make sure the float arm is properly connected and all the electrical connections are properly seated.

UPDATE:
Found a video on youtube (
) So, I went back in and re-installed the original sensor unit with the ceramic wiper board. However, I replaced the plastic arm that contains the 2 small spring steel brushes that move back and forth. This corrected my gas gauge problem, but now Im getting CHECK GAS CAP.

you did something that caused a vacuum leak. try replacing the oring on the module and use a little black rtv for insurance.
