Any known issues for a 94 SSEi ?
I'll be going to look at one advertised locally and was wondering what I should look at. From the pic its well cared for Red/ grey int/ sun roof/ new tires.
I'll of course check the suspension, Harmonic balancer, carpet for wetness/mildew, brakes, shifting, steering wheel play, overflow tank for signs of oil, spare tire fish bowl ....
What should I expect to see for boost driving around? I've no idea what to look for concerning the supercharger. What about the ,was it coupler?
Thanks!
Tim

At idle, listen to the pulley side of the */C and listen for a rattle...If it'* rattling, then that'* a coupler. Easy fix though. If the guy will let you, bring a 15mm socket and breaker bar, relieve the belt tension on the */C belt, and turn the */C pulley back and forth a few times and check the play.....that'* the best way to check for a coupler.
For stock boost levels, prolly about 7 LBS maybe? And that'* with crackin' on the pedel as hard as you can.
I'm not too sure as my boost gauge didn't work until about 2 weeks ago lol.
Other than that stuff, I think you got it all pretty well covered....Make sure you get some pics to ***** off for us

I talked to the guy last night, we're on opposite shifts so he'* going to drive it to his parents place so I can look at it while he'* at work tomorrow.
It has 175,000 ( mostly highway he says) miles on it. <whew> but he says the tranny and gas tank are new. The tie rods and balljoints have been replaced recently, Tires are newer also. There are no leaks that he is aware of, and it does have a sunroof. It has an original non-cd upperscale factory radio he says (least of my worries).
Do the */c 3800'* have gasket issues?

Potentially, yes, upper and lower intake gaskets are known to wear out, however this is common on any car. If you are getting rough idle, chances are the subsequent vac leaks will be caused by the gaskets going bad.
