Default Trimming Headliner before Installation into 94SE

To Randman1 and Harofreak and other DIY headliner installers.

I've got the covered headliner ready to go back in BUT can someone tell me how and where the headliner needs to be trimmed? In other words, it appears that the headliner should wrap the board at the front and the back but be trimmed flush with the sides.

Do all the openings like sunvisor install points, overhead console w/sunroof switch and grap handle locations and sunroof opening itself just get trimmed back flush with board?

My old one was so tattered when I took it down that I couldn't tell where it was flush and where it was wrapped.

Any advise - as usual is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike in Alabama

The OEM headliner was wrapped only along the front (windshield) edge, all other edges were flush trimmed including all of the openings that you mentioned.

I don't think there will be a problem if you wrapped the back edge but I wouldn't wrap any others.

i wrapped the front and back...cuz why not? its never gonna sag again...

when you cut out all the other holes, dont cut it all the way to the edge, leave like a 1/8" overhang just to be safe. the toughest spot is getting the sunroof trim ring back on wihout damaging the new fabric

good luck
