Wipers
The windshield wipers on my Bonneville will not go all the way down. They go up to their normal position just not all the way down. I tried taking the entire arm off and putting them back on in the down position, but I can't get them off. Can someone tell me how?

There's a little clip underneath that holds it onto the grooved driveshaft. You have to pull the clip back (it won't come off), and lift the wiper arm up.

How far back do the tabs pull out? I seen those and managed to pull them back some, but still couldn't get he arms off. Thanks for the advice I will try again. :D

Having said all that, I think the shaft is indexed so that the wiper arm only goes on in one position; you don't get to reattach it one notch further to the right, or something like that. If the wipers are not parking properly, the problem is in either the motor or the linkage, not in the position of the wiper arm on its shaft. |

Is there a way to adjust the linkage? Or will the motor need replaced? They work fine they just don't go all the way down.

If they just stop a little higher up on the glass than they used to, maybe there's a bent linkage arm or something. If they just quit at the bottom of a return sweep and don't do that extra downwards park movement, maybe there's a wiring problem in the motor. |
